Shebno Saint-George - a 2020 Program Success Story
When it comes to the crazy year that was 2020, it doesn’t seem like there was a lot of good news.
But, Consider Haiti is so proud of the local agent support of Eddy Prophete and the local Consider Haiti team as they sent this recent update about one of our long-time participants in the nutritional program.
Shebno Saint-Georges is one of the very first children who were enrolled in the program in 2009 in Guibert (locality near Fond-Baptiste). I can't find his date of birth but I think he might be 18 or 19 now. When he was first enrolled, his parents could barely provide for his food and school needs and he suffered from malnutrition. He had the face of a little old man. Although he was over the age required to be enrolled, we decided to include him in the group of children who were going to be the first enrolled.
He received a pregnant goat which did not take long time to give birth to three young goats. In the meantime, Shebno is slowly recovering from his malnutrition which ended up being treated through the help of our program. To pay for his school fees and buy class materials, Shebno's parents had to sell goats each time from the population of his goats. At the end of 2020, thanks to his goats, Shebno finished his classical studies. Shebno is very grateful to have been among the very first to enroll in the program.
As we head into 2021, we are hopeful that we can add more children to our monthly program and hear even more success stories in the near future!
If you would like to become a monthly sponsor, you can make sure that children just like Shebno receive the nutritional and medical support they need to survive.
