LOCAL Support
Our local consider Haiti staff know the economy, needs, and area. Your donations will allow them the flexibility to help families in the most successful ways.
On August 14th a 7.2 earthquake tore through Haiti leaving nearly 2000 dead and 9,900 injured, according to Reuters.
The earthquake and tropical storm that followed have left at least 600,000 people in need of emergency assistance and have displaced at least 135,000 families, according to Haiti’s Civil Protection Agency.
We stand in solidarity with Partners in Health/Zanmi Lasante and Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders, who are providing emergency trauma care to the affected areas.
Once immediate medical concerns are addressed, the urgent need turns to clean water and nutrition.
This is what Consider Haiti was designed to do from the start - provide SUSTAINABLE clean water and nutrition to at-risk families. We have the infrastructure and our local Haitian staff that can help us continue to provide the most urgent, basic needs for survival in Haiti to those that need it most.
There are 3 ways you can help us save more lives TODAY!
1. $5,000 matching grant opportunity—donate today (any amount) and it will be doubled up to $5,000. This is a unique opportunity for our organization. Any amount will help us get closer to our $5,000 goal!
2. Become a monthly partner—Become a monthly partner and donate any set dollar amount that fits your budget. Monthly partnerships help us budget and plan how many children we can add to our program. Our partnership support is down this year and this is a huge need area for us!
3. Become an active supporter— We are 100% volunteer-run! We have a lot of ways that you can get involved depending on your time/interests. You can volunteer to be part of our research/education team, our fundraising team, or our events team. Hint, hint: Our annual pumpkin patch fundraiser is just around the corner. You could start an individual fundraiser (think Facebook fundraiser), buy a goat for a program family, or attend our monthly Consider Haiti board meetings.
